For the past 20 years, my fine art photography has been predominately botanicals or landscapes in color.   But, while searching for images for an earlier book, “In The Style Of”, I started to run across random, more abstract photos that I had processed in a monochromatic, abstract style. Some of those images became new favorites and will appear in a new book: ” Monotone, Duotone, Tritone” to be published in late October, 2020.

Many of those images have never seen the light of day but now seem worthy of additional attention and processing by pushing the limits of the abstract nature of the original color image, converting it to black and white, removing content and/or adding texture.

You will think me crazy, but when I look at this I smell dill weed, and then I really crave potato soup! And maybe that is partly because the milky base of potato soup reminds me a bit of the white area surrounding the flowers. I assume this falls into the same category as a “ditch lily” – something you explained to me over the summer?!

      Jan,
It actually is a bit of a weed. But, it’s really the common Queen Anne’s Lace that crops up where you hadn’t planned for it. That’s always the fun, creative part of gardening- happy accidents. It does bear a resemblance to dill weed though.
